Book Review
The Irish Kennedys- The Story of the "Rebellious O'Kennedys
In an attempt to identify accurate source
materials, we (members of Clan Kennedy Association) first
locate materials written with the Kennedys / O'Kennedys as a subject matter. Then as an attempt to
verify the information we try to cross reference the source materials, and locate independent reviews
of the material(s). We have performed a book reveiw search of "The Irish Kennedys- The Story of the
Rebellious O'Kennedys" By: Brian Patrick Kennedy. Using Google as a method of internet search,
using the search term: "Book review The Irish Kennedys"
In the top fifteen pages we located seven
(7) webpages with using links connecting to locations to
purchase the book. Of the seven pages two belonged to either the publisher, the author, or both.
Two of the other five webpages supplied a link a sales page that only provides the back cover
information from the book itself. The other three linked back to the two owned by the publisher/author.

The only review comments actually found
were those posted on the original two webpages.
With such notable reviews as those posted of a genealogist, a U.S. Senator, a U.S. Ambassador, a
professor, columnist and authors; its seems such comments would be solicited....
Solicited or not, after having read
this book we (members of the Clan Kennedy Association) do,
for the most part agree that this is a good, reasonably well researched, reference, important in its
own right as a source material in the study of the Irish Kennedys.
This book, small as it is, contains 38
chapters in 242 pages, with over three pages of references, many difficult to locate or view, all sharing
some point within the text of this books pages.
As the author points out in his introduction,
the tale of the Kennedys, by necessity, must be based on writings of earlier authors, who in turn based
their writings on the writings of others. This book, provides for a "one stop" as it were, eliminating the
need to locate the multiple source materials, found within the three pages of references from within the
book. However, the readers should be aware the while this author has attempted to present the
material objectively. Other points of view might also be derived from those same references; taken as
a whole.
NOTE: After the purchase of this book, we
attempted to contact the copyright holder, on two occasions prior to sending a "Letter of Intent" to post
copyrighted materials from this book. Having had no response, we posted the copyrighted materials, to
include the copyright notice of the holder. Following the "Letter of Intent" which included the url(s) of the
Clan Kennedy Association webpages, we began recieving emails from the author, who is the copyright
holder to remove copyrighted materials. We do apoligize for any inconvenience, this has posed on
anyone. However, there has never been any intent to infringe on any authors rights.
The source materials have been removed at his request. dtd:
