This website
will refer to histories, notes, books, pedigrees, titles and the
like of persons of the Kennedy surname. As source materials come from
many origins - the spelling(s) of the surname may be different from
those you (the reader) are used to. Remember the are about 130
different ways to spell the name.
During the
establishment of this website and the Clan Kennedy Association, it
was discovered that there are multiple sources of information
pertaining to the O'Cinniede / Kennedy histories. Most seem to be
adaptations of only a few learned sources. The tale of the Kennedys, by necessity,
must be based on writings of earlier authors, who in turn based their writings on the
writings of others; that is why we attempt to cross reference source materials.
It is the nature of the
family surname/genealogy/heritage catagory that the information often
comes from historical references and histories that are of an unverified source
or publication, or that of muliple source materials. It is usually a necessity to reference
and cross reference source materials in an objective attempt to verify the information. Not all scholars,
researchers , students or historians will agree on the accuracy of the information.
Any and all information
contained within this website is a compilation of independant
sources, many passed on word of mouth or by coorespondance with
holders of said information. All coorespondance, letters, emails, grants,and denials
will be maintained in file, pending investigation of defamation, or infringement.
All known copyright notices will be
observed. If source materials used, are accompanied by
copyright notice; an attempt to contact the holder will be made to
gain permission(s); prior to usage.
Sequence of Events: An attempt to contact by email, first.
Then to the contact posted within the published material.
A request for grant of permission or denial. A second request for grant or denial of permission.
A letter of intent, which includes the materials to be used and location by url address. A wait period of reasonable time.
Post of materials; to include the copyright notice and or credit box.
No materials
posted to this website, will be sold through, means of this site.
Books, crests, pins, or any other material items, will only be
available by means of licensed sales.
